It takes up to 14 days to deliver your music to the stores. Even then they may not appear right away, this depends on how often each store refreshes its content. You should see your music appear much faster on stores like iTunes and Amazon as they are constantly updating. Some of the genre specific stores on our premium distribution service may not accept every release we send, so although your music will be sent to all of them, it is likely that a small number won’t publish your release due to their own quality controls, and genre specific requirements. On premium distribution, your release will jump the distribution queue and be submitted ahead of any free distribution releases.

On Xarnia we have fixed pricing. £7.99 for an album, £3.99 for an EP and £1.99 for a single. On other stores, they will have their own fixed pricing, for example on iTunes, an album is typically £7.99 and a single track is £.0.79.

These are assigned automatically by our management system. You can’t see these yourself, but we are able to give them to you if you need them for any reason. Your release would not be accepted into distribution without them so rest assured that they will be assigned to your release on upload.

This is done automatically upon selection of premium distribution. You can’t gain access to the database unless you’re a record label or media company but this is always done within the first couple of days of a release being published on Xarnia.

Every quarter, we receive the sales data from all the stores we deliver to. We then upload this information to our website, and all the money owing to artists is then put straight into their artist accounts and can be seen under the revenue tab of your artist dashboard. This happens in January, April, July and October.

Every year in July, the Grammy Awards accepts material from record labels all over the world. We are effectively a virtual record label and so we are registered with them to submit content. In July of each year, we select the very best and most promising material that has been submitted to Xarnia and we send it to the various categories available in the Grammy Awards. Remember, quite a lot of independent artists have won Grammy Awards so it’s not only for the major label artists!

If you chose premium distribution, your release will be featured in its primary genre for exactly one month.

If you chose free distribution our cut is 25% of your distribution sales and 35% of your Xarnia sales. For premium distribution, our cut is 10% of your distribution sales and 35% of your Xarnia sales. For Xarnia.com sales, we take 35% as we have to cover the transaction charges, bandwidth costs etc. All download stores that we distribute to will take a portion of the revenue for the same costs. iTunes take $0.34 from each $0.99 track sale in royalties.

We will tweet and like your release several times to our 10k twitter followers. You can see this on our twitter at twitter.com/xarnia_music. We will directly submit your release to our record label contacts and we will create our A&R podcast every few months with the best tracks from premium distribution on to be sent out on our soundcloud. We have lists of record label contacts in different genres, we will send your release info out to the suitable list and see if any of them are interested in your music. We have already successfully got some of our artists signed to new labels using this method.
